July 24, 2012: Trip to Sarajevo

July 24, 2012: After breakfast we toted our bags from Kotor to the nearby bus station from where we traveled to Dubrovnic en route to Sarajevo. On the way we passed the vegetable market already doing brisk business:
After riding on the bus a bit, my direction sense sensed that we were traveling south along the bay instead of north which was the direction to Dubrovnic -- I worried that perhaps we were not on the correct bus, but my fears were allayed when the bus pulled onto a ferry that would carry us across the bay ultimately saving time had we traveled north around the bay instead:

Our ride to Dubrovnic was uneventful and we were able to buy our continuing bus tickets to Sarajevo for an earlier bus trip than originally had been planned. As was true for our trip going to Dubrovnic, the return trip took us through the mountains, along rivers, and through very interesting countryside:
The picture above was taken as the bus moved so it's a bit blurry, but I think you can get the idea of the scenery we saw on our trip.

We arrived in Sarajevo just before sunset. Here's a picture of an interesting modern building, the Tito Tower, that was near the bus station:
We took a taxi to our hotel and went out for dinner at a very interesting Bosnian restaurant that sold an tasty sausage pita type sandwich. There were many other foods that the Bosnians ate that also looked interesting. Something to look forward to tomorrow...
