March 15, 2011: Györ - Day 2

March 15, 2011: After breakfast at our hotel, Kent and I walked to the train station passing on the way, the Ark of the Covenant and alleys leading to the Basilica.

We arrived at the station with some time to spare but the train was ten minutes late. Good thing, too, because a train coming from the east rolled into the station during that ten minutes. The train was decorated to commemorate the Liszt Festival that is taking place in Sopron and as it rolled into the station, the locomotive blasted Liszt's music out the main engine speakers! Something to behold!

Our returning trip to Budapest was relaxing. Kent and I shared our own enclosed compartment (2nd class) and we rolled into Keleti Train Station in the late morning. Kent changed trains to his village east of Budapest, and I returned home. A great four day trip was had by all.
